Director Systems Test and Compliance Engineering - CHA02081104A
Lead a small focused team to develop automated systems test and compliance solutions needed to test and validate a state of the art RF and mixed signal IC. A firm understanding of wireless, RF and analog test methods is required. Primary duties include the staffing, planning and execution of complex automatic test procedures. The individual must be able to drive the derivation of a system test plan and its execution in a timely manner. This requires working with the design and systems engineering teams.
Job Duties
- Lead a small team to develop automated test solutions; hardware, software, test equipment
- Manage the implementation and execution of the test plans
- Track project schedules, priorities and level of satisfaction
- Provide the development team feedback on design and test issues
- Work with systems and design engineering teams to support all team goals
- Work with applications engineering in meeting customer expectations on testing (bring-up, debug, compliance)
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- BS or MSEE or equivalent
- 10+ years experience in RF testing with automated test environments
- Demonstrated leadership qualities and strengths; Comfortable with 4 to 10 direct reports
- Comfortable in an entrepreneurial start-up environment
- Familiarity with one or more of the following wireless standards: GSM, GPRS, EDGE, CDMA2000, IS-95, DECT, 1xRTT, EV-DO, W-CDMA (UMTS), HSDPA, LTE, WiFi, WiMax
- Experience in programming Agilent and other similar automated RF test equipment
- LabView, Visual Basic and C++
- Verilog, VHDL (not required however would be beneficial).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Comfortable with various types of lab equipment for debug scenarios
Senior Test and Compliance Engineer
Be a senior member of a small focused team that is developing automated systems test and compliance solutions needed to test and validate a state of the art RF and mixed signal IC. A firm understanding of wireless, RF and analog test methods is required. Primary duties include the planning, writing and execution of complex RF, analog, mixed signal and digital automatic test procedures. The individual must be able to develop a system test plan based upon the specifications and requirements of the product and business. This individual will also be responsible for the test plan’s execution in a timely manner. This requires working with the design and systems engineering teams

APPLICATIONS ENGINEERING

Work as a member of a team to bring highly integrated programmable radio transceiver chipsets to market. The emphasis will be to provide design and integration capability to support demonstration platforms, reference designs and customer evaluations. A candidate with a broad wireless systems background as well as design and/or applications experience in the wireless industry is preferred.
Job Duties
- Develop transceiver reference designs and demonstrations
- Evaluate/define platform system requirements
- Develop integration strategies
- Contribute to hardware design (schematics, layout)
- Contribute to software design (driver integration)
- Develop custom transceiver configurations
- Perform system integration and verification testing (bring-up, debug, compliance)
- Document design and capability
- Transition designs to customer
- Support customer service activities

Work as a member of a team to bring highly integrated programmable radio transceiver chipsets to market. The emphasis will be to internally provide RF design and integration required for the development of demonstration platforms and reference designs in handset, Femtocell, gaming and other wireless consumer electronic markets. A candidate with a strong RF background as well as design and/or applications experience in the wireless industry is preferred.
Job Duties
- Responsible for the development of customer specific front-end reference designs with the BWS transceiver
- Analyze customer specific RF application requirements
- Model/analyze system performance
- Source relevant RF components to meet system performance requirements
- Prototype/evaluate components and solutions
- RF board design
- Coordinate third-party contractors/consultants as needed (custom RF design, layout)
- Develop RF system test procedures
- Verify design performance with lab measurements
- Troubleshoot customer RF issues
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of RF design and/or applications experience in the wireless industry
- RF system analysis/simulation
- Board-level RF circuit design (schematic capture, layout techniques)
